About Us

A New Beginning.....

My wife, Lowie, and I, and a few other associates have started up a SURVIVAL TRAINING and informational group that covers all facets of family and neighborhood survival during personal, natural disasters and the tough times coming down the pike. It is called the "Rocky Mountain Survival Institute". If you have a desire to join with us please this is YOUR invitation. This group is non-denominational and we do not discuss conspiracy theory or other fringe ideas. You may believe them, and they may be real...but this is not our purpose. We are here only for helping families and neighborhoods prepare for all types of personal, natural or community disaster.

AND... the classes are available at a reasonable cost !!!

Some of the things we will be teaching are:

• Food and Water Storage

• "SafeHome" Tactics

• Communications and Ham Radio

• Chickens and other food producing animal care

• Wilderness survival and wild craft skills

• NON homeschool family education programs

• Transportation and fuel storage

• BOV's

We and our friends are long time preppers who are willing to help you, if you are willing to yourselves. The classes will be free to anyone; who are just good people motivated NOW to get things in order for their families, friends and neighbors.

We will have group purchases and specials available for you to purchase items that would normally not be available to the general public simply because the general public does not know how to find them. With our connections and years of experience WE DO!

Dallas - Dallas has been active in preparedness for over 30 years. He has served as a Firefighter/EMT IV-D, and Director of Emergency Medical Services. He and his wife Lois attended the USU Master Gardener's classes and love everything agriculture including bee keeping. He grew up with a father who was a frustrated farmer, and a grandfather who was a sheep herder and a farmer.  He was riding horses almost before he could walk.  He has trained and broke horses for nearly all of his life...maybe that is why some folks believe he is a little cracked....too many buck-offs.  He has been a stock broker, financial planner, mortgage banker, real estate broker and worked much of his life working for the airlines. Both are avid outdoors people, hunters and fisher-persons. He is a HAM Radio operator and holds an Extra Class License. Dallas and Lois have 8 kids and 19 and 1/2 grandkids. Dallas graduated from BYU with a degree in Business Management/ Finance and a minor in Economics, and nearly enough hours to minor in Geology, the real love of his life....besides Lowie of course..  Lois (Lowie) graduated from Southern Utah University with a degree in Elementary Education in three years with certificates in Resource, Special Education and Early Childhood Development, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the BYU College of Education.  She has taught Elementary Education for over 27 years, and currently is teaching her favorite....First Grade.

Karin - One of Karin's life goals is to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining. She specializes in emergency preparedness and food storage. But her main focus is that of being a wife, mom, and "Honey" to her 4-1/2 grandchildren. Karin's perfect day would be camping next to a river (any river, any where) and fishing in said river.
